Placement
At your second visit, we check the fit and color of each veneer, then bond them to your teeth.
Good to know: because a thin layer of enamel is removed, veneers are a permanent decision. Those teeth will always need a veneer or similar restoration.
Veneers, bonding or whitening?
Teeth whitening changes color only. Cosmetic bonding uses tooth-colored resin to fix small chips and gaps in one visit, but it stains and wears faster. Porcelain veneers change both color and shape and last the longest. At your consultation we will help you choose the option that fits your goals and budget.
Caring for your veneers
- Brush twice a day with a non-abrasive toothpaste and floss daily.
- Avoid biting hard objects such as ice, pens or fingernails.
- Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth.
- Keep your cleanings every six months so your veneers and gums stay healthy.

How long do porcelain veneers last?
Typically 7 to 20 years. The veneer itself does not change, but the teeth and gums around it can. If a veneer comes off it can usually be bonded back on, and a chipped veneer can be repaired or replaced.
Do veneers damage my teeth?
The tooth is only slightly changed, and the veneer is bonded to it. With regular brushing and flossing, veneered teeth are no more likely to get cavities than natural teeth.
Can veneers fix crooked teeth?
Veneers can make mildly crowded or uneven teeth look straighter. If your bite needs correcting, orthodontic treatment may be the better option, and we will tell you honestly.
How many visits do veneers take?
